This website provides information on Susan B. Anthony Dollars. The coin series is perhaps best known for its lack of success within circulation.
The coins were struck in very large quantities in 1979 amidst expectations of widespread public acceptance. Due to similarity in size to the quarter dollar and resulting confusion, the coins were rejected by the public and many businesses. Production was curtailed to the point where coins were only struck for coin collectors in 1981. The Susan B. Anthony Dollar made a one year reappearance in 1999 before being replaced by the Sacagawea Dollar.
On this site you will find a history of the series, information about the design, details of each year of release, mintages, additional facts, and coin specifications.
